THE AUTHOR
— CARROLL
DRAKE
Carroll Drake is a multi-series author whose work spans national policy, Texas alternate history, foundational faith studies, interstellar science fiction, and children’s storytelling. He writes across five distinct bodies of work — the Policy Series, the Texas Series, the Retold/Foundations of Faith Series, the Serakai Universe, and the Tiny Tim Series — each grounded in clarity, structure, sincerity, and a deep respect for how people and institutions shape the world.
His Policy Series is his most active and rapidly expanding body of work, with multiple volumes releasing in close succession. These books apply lessons drawn from decades of service, leadership, and realworld problem solving to the challenges facing the nation he has served throughout his life.
Born in
Borger, Texas,
Carroll grew up
immersed in the
proud traditions of Texas
independence.
Later study revealed deeper forces behind the conflict — including Mexico’s constitutional ban on slavery — prompting a thoughtful reexamination of the history he had been raised with. That “light-bulb moment” led him to explore how three very plausible events could have set Texas on an entirely different path, forming the foundation of the Texas Series, now in active development.
Carroll served twenty years as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, as a Naval Flight Officer and Radar Intercept Officer in F4 Phantom II and F14 Tomcat fighters across three squadrons. His ground assignments included flight instructor duty, Safety Officer, Tactical Action Officer aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV63), service on the Navy Discharge Review Board, and work as an AircraftWeapons Systems Integrator for the Naval Air Systems Command. After retiring from active duty, he continued supporting naval aviation as an aircraft weapons integration engineer for a defense subcontractor, contributing to major programs including the F/A18E/F and early Joint Strike Fighter development.
While
working fulltime
in defense
acquisition,
Carroll earned both an MBA and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore. He practiced law for nineteen years, focusing on areas that demanded clarity, precision, and disciplined reasoning — qualities that now define his writing across all five series.
Carroll’s personal life has shaped his work just as deeply. After losing his wife of fortyeight years to ovarian cancer, he adopted Tiny Tim — a threeyearold Pomeranian rescued from a puppy mill. Tiny Tim became family, comfort, and a reminder that gentleness still has a place in the world. That reminder inspired the Tiny Tim children’s series and influences the sincerity and emotional authenticity present in all of Carroll’s writing.
His spiritual journey also informs his work.
Raised Methodist and converting to Roman Catholicism at twenty, Carroll realized he had never fully understood the faith he embraced.
His personal study grew into the Foundations of Faith Series, now expanding as he continues researching and writing foundational material for readers seeking clarity and confidence in their beliefs.
Carroll’s love of storytelling extends into science fiction through the Serakai Universe, where military realism meets interstellar culture and firstcontact diplomacy. At the gentlest end of his work is the Tiny Tim Series, inspired by the small rescued Pomeranian who became family and a reminder that kindness still has a place in the world.
Today, Carroll lives in Ocala, Florida, continuing to develop new volumes across
his multiseries ecosystem. Across every book he writes, his mission remains the same:
to illuminate rather than obscure, to clarify rather than complicate, and to help
readers understand the world and their place in it.
